Take Your Brain Out

Great Outdoors Colorado’s Generation Wild has a mission: get kids outside. Most parents understand kids benefit from time outside in an abstract way. But, this year, we wanted to make sure they know it’s essential to kids’ health and development and even helps offset some of the negative impacts of screen time. So we encouraged families to take their brains out and helped educate them about the more literal physiological benefits the outdoors offers shifting outside play from “a nice to have” to an imperative for children’s wellbeing.

The film drove parents to a landing page featuring facts and quotes from pediatric experts detailing the positive physiological effects of time outside and provided tips and resources like The 100 Ways to Take Your Brain Out List and links to outdoor gear libraries across the state.
